Hello! We are Nelly Ben Hayoun Studios, a small london- based independent multidisciplinary studio supporting youth countercultures, experimental practices and pluralistic futures for the past 17 years. Most recently we had to leave our studio in a train carriage on top of the nightclub- The Village Underground. That meant looking for an affordable space for us to keep doing our community-focused work and public events. And what we have found? Soaring rents. Insecure leases. Spaces that disappeared overnight.

Looking for affordable space in this city was brutal.

London has already lost too many cultural spaces. Many organisations are in a worse position than before the pandemic and we need to do something together. Creative work needs physical affordable space. Without it, cultural, independent and innovative experimental thinking will disappear.

So we decided to try and to build a visible, collective alliance in London- but also build a database for all of us to know where we can go and who we can contact (*we will share this list with you on this website and on your email also)- Sorry this is london- based at the moment- but hopefully we will grow this initiative.
